I like the changes.
No it won't affect the powerblocs all that much unless there's a change in sov mechanics to follow.
But it will lead to more roaming gang pvp/piracy. |

What if CCP wanted your alliance to share the hard work of logistics because they think that just a few dudes supplying an alliance is borked?
Smaller space poor alliances can't afford a bunch of 6B ships to hand off to many people. Less space poor alliances don't have enough players with many cyno alt accounts in addition to a JF toon and JF who are willing to spend hours on each contract. Space rich alliances still won't find people willing to do one or two hauls per day because it's *exponentially more* boring than hauling as it stands now.
So move to a different region if you can't handle the one you're in. |

There's no change that would break up the large power blocs, unless they want to break up.
This will however create a lot more pvp opportunities.

I mean, how can ccp even consider this kind of big change in a about 11 Years old game?! There is not a single pro-argument for this crap. It helps NO ONE, and screws all.
Seriously, CCP cant change that. End of the Story. It has been a major part of the Game since 5 or 6 years, wich is combined with years of skilltrainning. If they really go through with this, its just a sign that they are wanting to kill of eve this time for sure.
I really do not want to start the "oh, im gonna quit" crap. But that is basically what CCP forces me to do. I trained so much to get in to carry properly, and now this? No. This is a FAR to big cut in the game.
When CCP Greyscale is sober again you should let him get back to work, but until than.... keep him away form a perfectly running game.
I mean, dont you guys at ccp see the feedback on your twitter, or FB or this dammit forum? Are you blind?`Why do you hate us so much that you want to take away the most beloved ships`?!
Yeah I'm hoping cap toons get cheap on the bazzar.
I'd love to own one when this goes live. |

The key to this is that CCP doesnt just stop with the changes after this patch.
No half decade long thought process.
They need to push forward with other ideas to support it.

In deep null you aren't honestly.
That's what NPC/lowsec/border space is for. |

I don't have exact numbers but I know we have over 2,000 reaction towers that need materials that are not from our space. That kind of logistics is not possible without the use of jump freighters and making it so you have to spend 4x the time moving things is just going to make people quit. Not to mention the effects on the economy.
For years we have read Goons saying they were different from others (expecially BoB), because they were NOT the typical "elite hard core guild" of EQ / WoW memory and basically most of them did not even care to join fleets and lived an happy & casual life. Suddenly it looks like you became super-committed, with giant cogs to keep oiled and make run at all costs else people will mass quit. That reeks of BoB-itis to me. Are you telling me you got BoB-itis disease?
Goons were always super commited.
There logi departments in 06-08 were just flat out amazingly well done. Simply epic.
Still is.
I don't think anyone really beleives that any changes you make at this point will break up the powerblocs. Eve is simply an old MMO at this point.
But you can make it more fun for people not in powerblocs. Limiting jumping range/speed etc. like this current patch. Adding more NPC stations dotted throughout null. Lowering structure amounts on POS's and decreasing timers.
Yes though no-one is breaking up colilitions it is just simply not going to happen at this point.
But maybe we can make the game a little more fun and competitive :)
